PRS CE-22

Recently I had the opportunity to get a PRS CE-22 for $700. I had found someone in a rural part of Georgia who was unwilling to meet outside of their home city. This in my opinion prevented anyone from inquiring about the guitar. By the time I spoke with the owner it had been on Craigslist for over 45 days with no real leads and listed for $1100.

In the spirit of trying to make a couple dollars and out of sheer curiosity I offered $650. The owner turned it down but said he would accept $750. I countered, that unless he met halfway I could only do $700 and he relented and I acquired this guitar. It was a brilliant instrument but I had just acquired another PRS bringing my total up to three and one of them had to go. So I traded this and $100 for a Gibson Midtown Custom.

Cheers.

Why start a guitar site in the first place.

Guitar is a passion of mine. I often find myself consumed with thoughts regarding different models, gear and the all encompassing search for "The Perfect Tone." This coupled with a desire to create, contribute to a community, and learn how to write better has pushed me to start this site. There also appears to be a few people looking for open, honest(unsponsored) reviews: Is Rob Chapman really reputable? and Is there ANY place to get actual honest reviews?. Both those posts were on the same day.

Anyways, I intend to fund this blog out of pocket.I will sell the gear I decide not to hold onto and use the profits to buy more gear to review. As an added step to keep me honest, I will not sell or advertise selling on this site. This should prevent giving good marks to gear that I do not care for. I already have a few reviews lined up in the future for things that I find to be inadequate or just plain terrible. If I find success with this site I will look for honest and non-invasive ways to make a few dollars. However, my honest opinion comes first as I am keeping my day job.

Oh yeah, and I may rant about bands and other music related things.

More to come.

Cheers.
